About

Costec Systems Pty Ltd is an independent Australian company specialising in dynamic, continuous-time simulation for industry.

Our Netalyser high fidelity simulation tools are the product of many decades of practical experience in the design, operation and management of power generation and other industrial plants and in the research and development of dynamic simulation modelling tools.

We apply our tools, skills and experience to:

  • Building and commissioning Power Plant Training Simulators
  • Conducting engineering studies for:
    • dynamic fault analysis of large and complex steam, water and gas distribution systems as found in power plants, petro-chemical refineries, steelworks and the like.
    • integration into the development, testing and pre-commissioning tuning of process control DCS systems, primarily for power plants but generally for any energy-generating plants.
    • developing realistic operating and cost data to accurately assess the economics and operational consequences of changes to a site’s energy production/utilization mix.
    • see also Case Studies.

History

Costec Systems Pty Ltd was formed in 2002 by key people from its predecessor, Costec Pty Ltd which was founded in Sydney Australia in 1982.

Costec developed its own simulation technology, including modeling methods and microprocessor-based hardware and operating systems, and delivered many large site-specific power station training simulators using these technologies.

In 1993 Costec Pty Ltd became part of TechComm Group Ltd which was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. In 1998 TechComm’s power and simulation division was acquired by a leading international DCS supplier.
